Hi everyone, happy Friday and welcome back to the blog. Maybe you’re approaching a milestone in marriage like a 25th anniversary. Maybe you got married in one location many years ago and now want to incorporate a little bit of Salem, MA into your matrimony. Whatever the reason, Salem has options for you.
Salem’s Black Hat Society
Did you know that Borah, Salem’s much beloved green faced witch, does wedding ceremonies as well as vow renewals? YUP! You can get married or renew with one of the city’s most known buskers. If you’re interested in taking a fun, spooky, goofy and high energy approach to the day, I’d suggest Borah. You can read all about that right here.
If you’re looking for location ideas
Salem is home to many spots that could be great for a vow renewal. The ones that immediately come to mind for me are the Schooner Fame, the Salem Common, the gardens at the House of the Seven Gables and the gardens at Ropes Mansion. There are many options beyond that of course, so I encourage you to get creative!
Planning your renewal in Salem, MA during the COVID-19 pandemic
I wrote all about planning during the COVID-19 pandemic last week, so if you’d like to read that information, click here.
Wrap the renewal into a getaway once COVID-19 is under control
We know that pretty much everyone has a focus on travel plans for late 2021 and 2022 once it’s safe to do so. Maybe consider wrapping your renewal into a getaway once travel is safe? What a fun way to celebrate multiple occasions and get back into the world all at once.
If you need a place to stay…
I always suggest the Hawthorne Hotel, they’re one of my favorites in the city. However there are tons of fun themed Airbnb locations in Salem to help amp up the vibes of your visit. I highlighted three of them for you right here.
I hope this helps! Feel free to comment below with your own thoughts. Good luck on your big day!! <3
